Transcript

Learn about disability activism and how to participate online from the co-organizers of #CripTheVote, a nonpartisan online movement engaging disabled people and others on policies and practices important to the disability community. Co-founders Alice Wong, Andrew Pulrang, and Gregg Beratan started #CripTheVote within the online disability community to encourage discussion of disability issues, amplify disabled voices, and get out the disability vote. They will share their experience--and the knowledge they have regularly gathered from the online disability community--to help college students get involved with the community and political activism online.

March 13, 2017: Disability Disclosure in the Job Search & Workplace

Are you concerned about if, when, and how to disclose your disability in the job search and work place? There is not one right way to disclose your disability, and your own approach may change depending on the situation. But developing your personal plan for how to disclose your disability in the workplace is important as you prepare for internships and career jobs.

Our guest mentors--Sean Marihugh from Microsoft, Michael Reese from Bellevue College, and Tami Tidwell from DO-IT at the University of Washington--will share their knowledge and experience as college-to-career mentors, employees with disabilities, and employers to help us explore options for disability disclosure.

*Sadly, the recording of this session is inaudible and so is not included in our public archives.
